Hey, my name is Kyle. I just started my 3rd year as Assistant Director of Multimedia at Central Michigan University's University Communications department. I have a Masters in Business Administration with a Finance concentration and a Bachelor's in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts.

I've been working as a Video Producer for the Central Michigan University marketing department for the last 3 years. At this position, I've worked closely with our marketing writers, strategists, and the social media team. This is basis of my professional experience: commercial video production. I have been the backbone in the production of award-winning commercials that have been aired during regional broadcasts of the Super Bowl and 3 campus-wide awareness campaigns. In these campaigns, my technical knowledge and skills in video production have saved the university hundreds of thousands of dollars and maybe even over $1 million by enabling the department to produce these commercials in-house. Before I was hired, the university would spend up to $75k on just one marketing campaign. My expertise in production and technical knowledge of film tools, enabled the team to produce the commercials in-house. In my time, we have done 3 distinct campaigns. We have seen a massive increase in applications which one of our key KPIs for the whole office.

Our team is data-driven. We use data and our key-performance indicators to influence our decision-making on a day-to-day basis. For our organic content, we do research on current trends to produce in-the-moment content as well as strategizing long-term. On a monthly basis, analyses are performed using our data dashboards to monitor strategy performance and recognize patterns of success.

From my graduate education and my professional experience, I am a proactive and thorough communicator. I am very organized and an empathetic collaborator.

Personal

I’m from Shelby Township, Mi. I first discovered my creative side at the age of 8 years old. My friends and I couldn’t stop making silly videos. Soon enough in 2008, I was sharing these videos on YouTube. I was 12.

I choose Central Michigan University for undergrad program. My first semester, I began the course path towards a degree in Broadcast & Cinematic Arts (BCA). By my third semester, I was taking classes that were filled with Juniors and Seniors. Nine semesters and a 3.49 GPA later, I graduated with a BCA major and a minor in Business Administration.

In my time, I marched four seasons as a Marching Chippewa. I held three executive staff positions at WMHW-FM, the student-run station at CMU, learning management and strategy. I learned from some of my inspiring mentors, and I capped off my time at CMU with a feature-length film documentary on the Chippewa Marching Band.

In January of 2021, I accepted a position at my alma mater. I am currently employed at CMU’s University Communications Department as the Assistant Director/Multimedia. Once again, it’s incredible to blend my passion for storytelling and Central Michigan University.

While working full-time in the Fall of 2021, I enrolled in an Masters in Business Administration program at CMU. After a year and a half, I completed my MBA with a Finance concentration in May of 2023. I finished the program with a 3.4 GPA.

Storytelling can come in many forms, and no matter what medium I use, I instill each project with my passion for storytelling. With my unique combination of creative talent, management education, and professional marketing experience, I am great addition to any team looking to increase the impacts of their efforts with intentional strategy.
